Jim Sifuentes is a singer, songwriter, and storyteller. His band, Sifuentes, will be performing songs from their new album at Skyark on October 19th at 8:30pm. The album is a blend of Pop, Rock, R&B, and Latin Soul, that span a lifetime. “This genre-blending project weaves together pop-rock, R&B, club rhythms, and nods to Sifuentes’ Mexican heritage” (Myescha Joell, Smash). RELEVANT HAIRSTYLES is a music performance concept in the folk tradition. Though not concerned with "passing" per se, there's a level on which it's simply a modern vocal group in the lineage of, say, Sons of the Pioneers or The Ink Spots - yet the project is also an attempt to strip away such signifiers and get at an earlier sensibility, one in which audience and performer alike are brought into contact with forces suggesting there may in fact be life before death. Giovany Revelle is a first-generation singer-songwriter and producer, the son of immigrants, born in Corpus Christi but grounded in Chicago, where he has lived for over three decades. This vibrant city is where Revelle has honed his craft, becoming a seasoned musician. His debut album is a genre-blending sonic journey that defies easy categorization, combining Revelle's diverse influences, including the Motown Sound, Rock, Blues, Jazz, Big Band, and singer-songwriter styles. Some people have dubbed his music "Latin Americana".

Strange birdfellows are flocking together! This Sunday, June 22nd Skylark will be hosting brunch with a menu by none other than Oriole. That's right, we will have Chef Noah Sandoval and co. in our very own humble - but extremely beautiful - Skylark kitchen. Chef just won a James Beard Award THIS WEEK...better not be late, this one's sure to draw a crowd..."caw-caw!" And, oh yeah, "Fuck ICE!" (shoutout to Chef Sandoval for accepting his Beard award with this important message).
