It’s time for yet another incredible evening celebrating history at Skylark. Join historians Paul Durica and Tim Samuelson, with special guest Madeline Crispell - curator at the Chicago Maritime Museum - to talk about shipping and shipwrecks on the Great Lakes. Drink the Edmund Fitzgerald beer by Great Lakes brewing on the 50th anniversary of its sinking (well, it’s 1 day off, but not if you stay until midnight). If you’ve missed our previous historical events, do yourself a favor and stop missing them. This is a one-of-a-kind experience

Jim Sifuentes is a singer, songwriter, and storyteller. His band, Sifuentes, will be performing songs from their new album at Skyark on October 19th at 8:30pm. The album is a blend of Pop, Rock, R&B, and Latin Soul, that span a lifetime. “This genre-blending project weaves together pop-rock, R&B, club rhythms, and nods to Sifuentes’ Mexican heritage” (Myescha Joell, Smash). Relevant Hairstyles - Live
RELEVANT HAIRSTYLES is a music performance concept in the folk tradition. Though not concerned with "passing" per se, there's a level on which it's simply a modern vocal group in the lineage of, say, Sons of the Pioneers or The Ink Spots - yet the project is also an attempt to strip away such signifiers and get at an earlier sensibility, one in which audience and performer alike are brought into contact with forces suggesting there may in fact be life before death.
